01 / TEACHING PAIR

Katja Završnik × Florian Zbinden

Katja Završnik
SLOVENIA

Katja Završnik

Lindy Hop · Balboa · Authentic Jazz

Katja has been dancing since the age of five, with a background that ranges from ballet, jazz and modern dance to gymnastics and acrobatic rock’n’roll. Since 2005 her focus has been the early American dances of the Jazz Age and Swing Era, including Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston, St. Louis Shag and Authentic Jazz. Based in Ljubljana and teaching internationally, she is known for an exceptionally refined sense of connection, musicality and footwork. Her dancing combines elegance with precision and playfulness, while her teaching pays close attention to the small details that make partner dancing feel clear, responsive and effortless.

Florian Zbinden
SWITZERLAND

Florian Zbinden

Lindy Hop · Performer · Community builder

Florian is a performer, competitor, organiser and dedicated social dancer with a strong fascination for rhythm, full-body movement and partner connection. He founded Ella’s Fellas in Zürich and co-organises Leapin’ Lindy in Bern. His approach to swing is inseparable from respect for its African-American roots and from the question of how dance communities can become more welcoming and inclusive. In classes he combines technical clarity with curiosity, encouraging dancers to explore rhythm, individuality and communication rather than simply collect figures. Florian is also a vocal supporter of genderless dance roles, LGBTQ+ safe spaces and female empowerment within the swing community.

02 / TEACHING PAIR

Jenna Applegarth × Timothy Christopher

Jenna Applegarth
USA / AUSTRIA

Jenna Applegarth

Lindy Hop · Balboa · Shag · Charleston · Blues · LISA MC

Jenna Applegarth is a professional dancer, performer and instructor specialising in the American jazz dances of the Swing Era. Her repertoire includes Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Charleston and Blues, and she travels internationally to teach, perform and compete. Now based in Vienna, Jenna brings together an American dance background and a strong connection to the European swing scene. Her classes are energetic, precise and deeply rooted in social dancing, with space for personality and musical choices. At LISA 2027 she is not only part of the teaching team — she will also be the MC guiding the weekend from the microphone.

Timothy Christopher
USA

Timothy Christopher

Lindy Hop · Musician · Creative thinker

Timothy Christopher is a Lindy Hop dancer, musician and engineer from Pensacola, Florida. He began as a largely self-taught dancer, building his foundations through online study, events and an intense curiosity for the dance, and became a respected presence in his local scene. Music is central to the way he understands movement: Timothy plays piano and trumpet and has a particular love for jazz and bebop. Alongside his artistic work he holds a degree in chemical engineering and works professionally as a production engineer. That unusual combination of analytical thinking and musical instinct shapes a teaching style that is thoughtful, creative and full of detail without losing the joy of social dancing.

03 / TEACHING PAIR

Moe Sakan × Vincenzo Fesi

Moe Sakan
JAPAN / UK

Moe Sakan

Lindy Hop · Balboa · Shag · Vintage culture

Born in Osaka and professionally trained in several dance forms, Moe Sakan discovered swing in 1999 and moved to London the following year. She became one of the most recognised female swing dancers in the UK, with international competition successes, extensive work in theatre, television and film, and a career teaching Lindy Hop, Balboa and Shag around the world. In 2009 she won the Jack & Jill at Frankie 95, and in 2017 she was inducted into the Camp Hollywood Hall of Fame. Moe is also a passionate vintage enthusiast whose interest reaches beyond steps into the music, fashion and culture surrounding the dances. Her teaching is charismatic, informed and unmistakably her own.

Vincenzo Fesi
ITALY

Vincenzo Fesi

Lindy Hop · Balboa · Tap · Jazz

Vincenzo Fesi is an internationally recognised dancer, teacher, choreographer and performer who has spent years teaching and appearing at major swing events around the world. Inspired by artists such as Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly and Frankie Manning, his work moves between Lindy Hop, Balboa, tap and jazz with a strong theatrical sense and a deep love of the music. Vincenzo is known for energetic performances, elegant movement and a broad view of swing culture that also includes singing, presenting and choreography. He is a co-organiser of Swing Crash Festival and has appeared on screen as a dancer and performer. In 2014 he wrote the preface to the Italian edition of the Frankie Manning book.

04 / TEACHING PAIR

Špela Premelč × Alberto Meucci

Špela Premelč
SLOVENIA

Špela Premelč

Lindy Hop · Jazz · Movement

Špela Premelč is a dancer and teacher whose movement background reaches far beyond swing. She grew up with ballroom dance, gymnastics and music, later studied jazz ballet and contemporary dance at Terpsihora, and began teaching while still very young. She discovered swing in 2013 and has been teaching in the local scene since 2015. Špela is also a certified Level 1 Franklin Method educator and brings that body awareness into her classes. Her work focuses on quality of movement, rhythm, musicality and an understanding of how the body can move with more freedom and efficiency. She values a co-creative teaching process and combines artistic versatility with a strong pedagogical and andragogical foundation.

Alberto Meucci
ITALY / POLAND

Alberto Meucci

Lindy Hop · Social dancing · Rhythm

Born in Italy, Alberto Meucci discovered swing dancing in 2015 and quickly turned curiosity into a serious journey through festivals, classes and competitions across Europe. Dance residencies in Budapest and Vilnius helped shape his approach, and he is now based in Warsaw, where he teaches at ShimSham.pl. Alberto is first and foremost a passionate social dancer: he enjoys rhythm variations, playful communication and the constant exchange of ideas that happens between partners and music. His interest also extends to the history and culture behind the dances. Curious, energetic and rarely far from a joke, Alberto brings a lively atmosphere to class while keeping the learning focused and useful on the social floor.
