Ljubljana International Swing Academy is getting closer, and we have updates on the competitions for you. Besides a Mix&Match competition on Friday night, we’ve also decided to do a Strictly competition during the Saturday night party (for this competition, you register together with your partner).
- MIX & MATCH competition during the Friday Night party
The preliminaries for the contest will start at 21:00 in Grand Union Hall, and the finals will be during the Friday Night Party. Registration for the competition will be possible at the registration desk during the day, between 14:00 and 18:00 and before the party starts, from 20:00 until 20:45.
- STRICTLY competition during the Saturday Night party
The idea is to have an elimination format for all the rounds, which means we will limit the competition to a maximum of 12 couples. It is going to be a maximum of six rounds for the first elimination, where two couples will dance side by side for about a minute or so. After each round, the judges will immediately decide who goes into the next round. After, we will have another round of eliminations to get to two or three final couples, that will dance in a jam circle style for a final round.
In the final round, the amount of eights you dance in a jam circle is not set, but please give each other space, and of course, don’t be afraid to take the space, too! The idea is to throw it down, have fun, inspire and not turn it into an “everyone dances at the same time” thing 😉 The winner will be decided by the public.
