What do I need to know about parties?

• First of all, don’t be late. Action starts when we open the door. Don’t be hangin’ about and missing the program. The plan is to come early and have the most of each night, as each night will be special.
• Separate party tickets are only available for Friday and Saturday night parties.
• VENUES:
  • Friday and Saturday party will be held at The Big Hall of GRAND HOTEL UNION (Miklošičeva ulica 1, 1000 Ljubljana). Entrance from MIKLOŠIČEVA ULICA (Miklosiceva Street).
  • Sunday night party will be held at VINTAGE PLAC (new Vintage Swing Studio) – Tivolska 50, Ljubljana.

FRIDAY NIGHT PARTY – 28. 2. 2025 Location: Grand Hotel Union, Main Hall, Miklošičeva 1 Time: 21:00 – 04:00 Live Music: the Roaring Cats DJ sets by DJ Alright & DJ Vladi Vinyl selection by Mr Peanuts Mix & Match competition Friday night will be full of dancing, live music, fine DJ selection by DJ Alright and a turntable treat, Mr Peanuts himself. You will get to know your instructors and will be able to participate in or enjoy the Mix & Match competition. We are excited to welcome on stage one of Europe’s most promising swing and hot jazz bands, the Roaring Cats. The tiny orchestra based in Amsterdam took the challenge of giving value and new significance to the roots of jazz and will be with us for the first time. Their repertoire consists of original arrangements of the finest tunes by the top artists of the 30s and 40s: from Fats Waller to Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington to John Kirby. On top of that, they present original compositions in their own style. Swell notes for hyperactive swing dancers and for sedentary drinking listeners. MIX & MATCH competition: the preliminaries for the contest will start at 21:00 in Grand Union Hall, and the finals will be during the Friday Night Party. Registration for the competition will be possible at the registration desk during the day, between 14:00 and 18:00 and before the party starts, from 20:00 until 20:45. Entrance: 40 EUR (entrance free for all LISA 2025 attendees)   SATURDAY NIGHT PARTY – 1. 3. 2025 Location: Grand Hotel Union, Main Hall, Miklošičeva 1 Time: 21:00 – 04:00 (taster class: 20:15 – 21:00) Live Music: the Roaring Cats DJ sets by DJ Alright & DJ Vladi Vinyl selection by Mr Peanuts Performances We will, once again, welcome on stage the amazing Roaring Cats. There will be plenty of live music to dance to, accompanied by our DJ selection sets by DJ Alright and vinyls by Mr Peanuts. During the Saturday night party, you can also take a break and enjoy awe-inspiring performances. You can also join a taster dance classs with Tanja Ferčej and Dror Speiser just before the party starts. Entrance: 40 EUR (entrance free for all LISA 2025 attendees)   SUNDAY NIGHT RHYTHM & BLUES RECORD HOP – 2. 3. 2025 Location: Vintage Plac, Tivolska 50 Time: 21:00 – 04:00 Live Music: Sam Ghezzi feat. The Jackpots Vinyl selection by DJ Martin 13 We are extremely excited about the final party of LISA 2025! This Rhythm & Blues flavoured night will offer an amazing vinyl selection by DJ Martin 13 and live music by Sam Ghezzi with our house band, Sam Ghezzi feat. The Jackpots. Get ready for a crazy hot night full of rhythm and blues, dance, fun, hangouts, soul and heart. Do not miss it! Entrance: no tickets at the door (entrance free for all LISA 2025 attendees)
